Meet Dr. Sébastien Dewez
Services are offered in person or virtually (when clinically appropriate).
Hi, I’m Dr. Sébastien Dewez. I am a health and clinical psychologist offering psychological assessments, individual therapy, and couples therapy for adults in both English and French. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood and supported as you work through life’s challenges.
In my practice, I work with adults, older adults, couples, members of the LGBTQ2+ community, and first responders. I combine thoughtful, constructive dialogue with evidence-based approaches, so that our work together is both personal and meaningful. I believe the therapeutic relationship to be central to this process, and I take the time to understand your story, your concerns, and your values, while supporting your psychological well-being.
You may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or the emotional impact of physical health concerns. Whatever brings you to therapy, my aim is to help you better understand yourself, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward meaningful, lasting change. I use an integrative approach, which means I tailor our work to your needs, goals, and pace.

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Montreal and my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. I am registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. Before becoming a psychologist, I earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and worked as a pharmacist for more than 20 years. This experience helps me understand the close connection between physical and mental health, including how medical concerns, medications, and life changes related to health can affect emotional well-being.
I also bring more than ten years of experience in clinical psychology, including work in mental health and health psychology at Montfort Hospital and The Ottawa Hospital. This background has shaped the way I support clients with both the psychological and physical dimensions of well-being.
My practice draws on several evidence-based approaches, including psychodynamic therapy, intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy, transference-focused psychotherapy, mentalization-based therapy, emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy. Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you, with the aim of fostering greater self-understanding, strengthening resilience, and developing practical strategies to support your well-being.
